REEL

Calling this a professional activity might be a bit ambitious,
given that I’ve only had one billed and paid client so far.
And I haven't "delivered" yet...

Still, the past three years have been full of experiments,
and I’m happy to present some of them here.

WARNING: this area is still under heavy construction.
Please wear a safety helmet.

This was a benchmark.
The goal: a believable tribute to Yasujiro Ozu, on the theme of a girl in a train.

The first attempts, triggered by “old train”, went full Harry Potter.
It took some effort to bring things back.

This one won.
Good lighting.

Exercice.
Hybrid torn-poster aesthetic, combined with digital tools.
With soundtrack.
REEL 13
I made a 15-film series (shot by a very competent friend) called "The Trouble with UX Design".
Posted on LinkedIn.
Modest reach.
Yet, some people still mention them when they talk to me.

Here are 3 out of 15 episodes.
I found versions with English subtitles — never seen before.
More convenient for everybody...

I made this out of stiff boredom of drone shots of dancing humanoid robots.
REEL 09
"The Most Probable Future of Digital Design" failed to attract attention.
Not quite frictionless.
Too soon, perhaps.

These three films are mourning pieces.

Jeep Novak has been the Chief Chaos Officer in Brussels for forty years.
Then he died.

Three images resurfaced from an unfinished project we started together(2011–2012).

These films were made looking backwards.

This began as an exploration of distorted colored forms.

By the end, I had lost track of it.
Like the bird in the film.

I was not sure if it belongs here. But since i’m clearing the attic, everything goes.
REEL 03
Yet another exercise on the "slow motion buys time" protocol.

Runway films — #3/4
REEL 02
Another Stone Age experiment.
Sequences stretched like chewing gum.

No sound.

REEL 01
First experiment.
Flying saucers over Paris.

No sound.
